Julia Holberry Associates  advised the National Museum of the Royal Navy on their Round 1 bid for a new Centre of Discovery for the Dockyard site.

The Centre of Discovery aims to provide visitors with an opportunity to burrow into the Museum’s vast collections to find out about the objects and their hidden stories; to create exhibitions, resources and contribute their own stories to the naval archive.  The NMRN submitted their £15m bid to the HLF in November.  JHA helped them to develop their vision, focus their audiences and define the offer.  The team also project managed the community consultation to collect evidence of support for the project, interviewed stakeholders and further developed the ideas for the activity programme, their costings and staffing needed to deliver the programme.  JHA advised on the completion of both the HLF Project Enquiry Form and the Round 1 bid itself.

The Museum was awarded £14 million by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
